The connection between shafts and hubs has traditionally been achieved using keys and keyways. However, this method presents numerous challenges, including the need for high-quality materials, high machining precision, and precise alignment during assembly. The ETP bushing provides a solution to these problems by offering a friction-based connection. The ETP bushing is a product that connects using friction without keys, effectively resolving the drawbacks and difficulties associated with keyed connections.Mechanisms are broadly categorized into two types: hydraulic (oil pressure) and mechanical (wedge). They offer advantages such as simplicity, compact size and light weight, easy attachment and removal, straightforward precise positioning and indexing, and significant reduction in work from design through assembly, adjustment, and maintenance.

循環型社会とは？
はまちゃん： 橋本先生！この前、工作機械展で「切粉の圧縮機」を見ました！切粉を圧縮することで、リサイクルしやすくなって、カーボンニュートラルにも貢献できるそうです。
橋本先生：それは「循環型社会」を意識した取り組みの一つだね。
「循環型社会」とは、資源を効率的に使用し循環させて、環境への負荷を減らしていく社会のことだよ。 最近では、さまざまな業界で「循環型社会」へ向けての取り組みが進められているよ。
今日は、循環型社会について学んでいこう！
循環型社会が注目される理由って？
橋本先生：「循環型社会」は、現在、問題とされている「天然資源の枯渇」「ゴミ問題」の解決や、以前このセミナーでも取り上げた「脱炭素社会」を実現するための手段として、注目されているんだよ。大量生産・大量消費の経済を見直して、持続可能な社会を作ることが求められているんだ。

資源には限りがあり、このままの消費が続くと、100年ほどで枯渇すると言われている。

ゴミ問題
大量生産・大量消費により生活が豊かになった結果、廃棄物が増加。 2050年には現在の約2倍の廃棄量となることが予測されている。

日本での取り組み
橋本先生：日本では、2000年に「循環型社会形成推進基本法」がスタートしたよ。
その法律に基づいて「循環型社会形成推進基本計画」が策定され、基本方針や目標値などが、まとめられたんだ。

はまちゃん：20年以上前から、法律が制定されていたとは驚きました！
2025年までに達成しなければならない、目標がたくさんあるのですね。
橋本先生：2021年には環境省が、日本の取り組みを国内外に向けて発信する「循環経済パートナーシップ」を開始したよ。これには、一般企業も参加することができるんだ。

自動車タイヤのすり減った部分を張り替え、再度使用する。（リトレッドタイヤ）
【バイオプラスチックの開発】
植物など、自然に還すことができる有機物を原料としたプラスチック。
バイオマス、微生物などによる分解が可能な生分解性タイプの2種類がある。
はまちゃん：循環経済への流れが世界的に加速する中で、官民連携を強化して取り組んでいるんですね！日本での取り組みは理解できましたが、海外で行われている取り組みはあるのでしょうか？ 詳しく知りたいです。
国際的な取り組み
アジア太平洋3R推進フォーラム
日本が提唱し2009年設立された、アジアの環境と経済の両立を図り、循環型社会を実現することを目指す取り組み。３R（リデュース、リユース、リサイクル）の推進に向け、各国政府や国際機関、NGOなど幅広い団体が協力する際の基盤となることを目的としている。 日本以外に、中国や韓国、オーストラリア、シンガポールなど、計39か国が参加している。
特定プラスチック製品の環境負荷低減に関わる指令（ヨーロッパ）
2019年に使い捨てプラスチックの流通を禁止する法案が採択された。 2021年7月から、プラスチック製のカトラリー類、ストロー、発泡スチロール製の容器などの使用を禁止。廃棄物の削減を目指している。

循環型社会のためにわたしたちができることってあるの？
はまちゃん：循環型社会へ向けて世界でもさまざまな取り組みが行われているのですね。
私たちの生活の中で具体的にできることはありますか？
橋本先生：そうだね。国際的な取り組みの中で紹介した「3R」を実践するのがおすすめだよ。
3Rとは？
3R＝リデュース（Reduce）、リユース（Reuse）、リサイクル（Recycle）の略。
Ｒ（リデュース）
資源の消費、ごみの発生をもとから減らす できること：ごみになるものを買わない・もらわない、マイバッグを持って無駄な包装は断る など
Ｒ（リユース）
繰り返し使うことで、ごみを減らす できること：詰め替えできる容器に入った製品を選ぶ、フリーマーケットやガレージセールなどを利用し、不用品の再活用に努める など
Ｒ（リサイクル）
資源として再び利用することで、ごみを減らす
できること：資源として分別する、リサイクル製品を積極的に利用する など

橋本先生：今まで、日本では廃棄物を燃やして「熱エネルギー」を回収するサーマルリサイクルが主流だったけれど、最近では、廃棄物を新しい製品に作り替える、化学分解して再利用するリサイクル方法が増えているよ。
はまちゃん：リサイクル方法も変化しているのですね！ エコバックを持ち歩くなど、普段の生活の中に３Rを取り入れていきたいです。
橋本先生：循環型社会の実現には、一人ひとりの努力が必要なんだよ。日々の生活を少しずつ見直して、続けていけるようにしたいね。
製造業での取り組みについては以下にまとめたよ。
製造業での取り組み
循環経済ビジョン2020
経済産業省が発表した、今後の日本の循環経済への移行に向けたビジョン。環境活動としての3Rから、経済活動としての循環経済（サーキュラーエコノミー）への転換を図るための方向性を示したものとして位置づけられている。
具体的な事例
【自動車】
リサイクルしやすくするため、簡単に解体できる構造への設計へ移行。
【紙で作られた洋服】
合成繊維ではなく、和紙や紙の糸で作られた洋服。
天然素材のため、分解して土に返すことができる。
【食べられる容器やカトラリー】
ソフトクリームのコーンのように食べることができる容器や
カトラリー。食べることでゴミを削減できる。
【代替肉】
大豆や小麦などの植物から作られた肉に似せた食べ物。
植物性の食材を使っているため、畜産と比較して、 温室効果ガスの発生や森林伐採を抑制できる。
橋本先生：「循環経済」の実現に向けた製品が、どんどん開発されているよ。
はまちゃん：自動車や洋服、食品などあらゆる業界で、環境に配慮した製品が 開発されているのですね。
橋本先生：三木プーリにも貢献している製品があるよ。
1.無励磁ブレーキ（BXR-LE）
- 多関節ロボットの省エネ、省スペース化に貢献
専用コントローラーによる制御で通電時の電圧を1/3に抑えることが可能。コンパクト設計のため、省スペース化にも貢献。多関節ロボットなどの非常停止用のブレーキとして採用されている。

橋本先生：そう言えば、過去にお客様からの要望で、分解しやすいネジを 設計したこともあったね。
はまちゃん：分解しやすければ、リサイクルするのも簡単ですね！ 「循環型社会」や「循環経済」についてもっと勉強して、環境に配慮したカップリングやブレーキの提案ができるようになりたいです！
